GENERAL INFORMATION
ABOUT THE EVENT
The NextGen Artists Awards is one of a kind global art competition for youths under 6 year olds to 25 years of age from anywhere in the world. It is held annually and blindly judged by industry art experts with numerous years of training and experience. Each participant will receive a certification award and feedback from the panel of accomplished judges. The participants will be receiving cash prizes, Trophies and Certificates, Gift hampers, Mentorships, Social media and website acknowledgement, and a chance to become a Junior Juror.
CATEGORY CLASSIFICATION
1. Digital Art
Original artworks were created on a computer using various software. Softwares like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, GIMP, Macromedia Freehand, CorelDraw, or any other designing programs. Kindly mention which software was used when describing the artwork in the form before submitting it.
2. Drawing
Original artwork is composed of drawings made with a manual instrument on canvas, paper or any flat surface. The drawings can include all sorts of artwork, ranging from formal, abstract or realistic. The artworks can be made using (but not limited to) pencils, ink, charcoal, pastels, crayons, markers, etc.
3. Painting
The painting category includes two-dimensional original art created by applying paint colours to canvas, paper or any flat surface. The submission can be made with (but not limited to) oil, acrylic, watercolour, ink, spray paint, etc.
THE AWARDS
3 winners will be selected from each age group. Winners will be receiving cash prizes (1st place), Trophies or Certificates, Gift hampers, Mentorships (1st place), Social media and website acknowledgement, and a chance to become a Junior Juror and more.
The 3 award categories are:

All the participants will be receiving recognition certificates and feedback from the accomplished judges from the judging day.
OUR JUDGES
Our judges are industry experts that have developed a successful artistic career while working to develop and enhance community access to the arts. They are award winners, community leaders, and intergenerational mentors. Our Jurors are bringing years of creative experience that has been strengthened through professional development. This has allowed them to not only create but to build a successful career out of those creations. Our judges will mentor our award winners to follow in their footsteps and create the NextGen Artists.
OUR ADVISORS
We have partnered with organizations and industry experts to advise us on how to build a community-focused, sustainable foundation that maximizes its potential to provide the opportunity to the next generation of artists. Our advisors will be helping artists with career development and mentorship to support their creative journey.
APPLICATIONS
ELIGIBILITY
6-25 years of age from anywhere in the world. You do not need to be attending art school to be eligible. This is an inclusive art competition.
AGE GROUPS:
Entries will be judged in 3 categories:

Group I - 6 to 8 years of age

Group II - 9 to 12 years of age

Group III - 13 to 15 years of age

Group IV - 16 to 18 years of age

Group V - 19 to 25 years of age
ENTRY FEE
We at The NextGen have kept a minimal fee of US$40 per artwork submission. As we are a not-for-profit organization, NextGen Awards does not receive any other source of funding apart from the entry fee.
The entry fee goes directly towards our operational costs, prizes and awards.
HOW TO ENTER
All artists will:

Take a photograph of your artwork (Follow HOW TO SUBMIT below)

Complete an online entry form

Upload your artwork.

Submit a non-refundable application fee.

You will confirm that your artwork has been uploaded successfully.
JUDGING CRITERIA
The Judges at the NextGen Artists Awards browse the art pieces for judging without any knowledge of the artists' identity. Our judges are looking for original artwork with unique technical skills. The artists are free to express their creativity and personal vision in an abstract or realistic form.
HOW TO SUBMIT

Make sure to hang your artwork up on a neutral coloured wall or on a table

Do not lean your artwork against an object

For best results, take photos by window with natural light, or outside on a cloudy day to avoid shadows.
